Per the INX-ZA management committee Terms of Reference, we will hold elections during iWeek 2017 to elect a new management committee.  The candidates below have expressed an interest in serving this position.  As a reminder, the INX Committee is open to anyone from the community;  not limited to geography, or just INX peers.  

Only INX peers may vote, and voting is restricted to one vote per organization.  Onsite voting will take place during the INX-ZA user meeting at iWeek 2017 (4 September, 16:30).  Voting will take place by secret ballot.

Anthony Engelbrecht

Anthony has had a passion for the ICT sector for over 25 years, starting with x.25, and continues to dabble in new cutting edge technologies.

Since 2001 Anthony has been developing and building many start-up companies in the IT sector, from: Business analysis, data mining and bulk SMS solutions, to Layer 7 messaging technologies and Telecoms. These companies include: ATTUNE Technologies, BI Digital Technologies, JIREH Technologies, Mobile Ranking Technologies, and many more. He still serves on the board of these organisations and plays an active role on a day to day basis.  Anthony’s second passion is sailing, and he is a qualified ocean skipper and sailing instructor. He enjoys this activity with his wife and three children, and plans to sail the world.

Anthony has been on the INX committee since 2016.

Ben Roberts

Ben worked in electronic and software design of satellite paging systems and systems support of Voice over IP networks before joining Econet group in 2002. Initially as an engineer setting up and running networks at Econet Satellite Services, before moving on to become Chief Technical Officer at Liquid Telecom. Ben has been responsible for network and product strategy with Liquid Telecom as they have built an extensive African fibre network.

Ben has been on the INX committee since 2016.

Edrich de LangeEdrich de Lange has been working in the ISP field since 2008, and is currently a consultant to various small ISPs around Durban. He has been on board of various Non profit organisations and groups in both the IT field and others since high school, and has a deep love for involvement in the community."

Malcolm SiegelMalcolm has been actively involved with the South African internet communities since he was a boy. He has worked in South Africa and the UK. He has a love of networking, peering and cloud computing.
Malcolm has been on the ISPA INX-ZA committee for 2 years

He is currently a Director of Routed Hosting which is the first Carrier Neutral cloud platform in South Africa.

Ranveer Seetaloo

I am hereby submitting my candidacy for being part of the INX ZA Committee for 2017-2018. As a Senior Network -Professional with more than ten years’ international exposure in core network build outs and management at operator level, I am very much keen to contribute and share my vision for architecting a better and more democratic internet for Africa and for all.

As a member of the ISPA through my organization, I am very much aware of the immense work which is being carried out by seasoned professionals in advancing the cause for peering and making the Internet more and more affordable and ubiquitous. I intend to bring my humble experience from the Indian Ocean Islands which covers small yet emerging markets for Internet. 

Riaan Vos

I am currently a member of the INX-ZA minxcomm and is willing to stand for
another term provided this is acceptable by the current committee members
and the community.

I have more than 10 years experience working in the industry with
extensive experience on Service Provider Backbone networks.
I am currently the lead engineer of the team responsible for the last mile
access network of Internet Solutions.

I have being exposed to the numerous technologies and do have extensive
experience with them:
* MP-BGP (as defined in RFC 4760 and RFC 4456).
* MPLS (as defined in RFC 4364).
* OSPF (as defined in RFC 2328).
* VPLS (as defined in RFC 4762, RFC 6074).
* IPv6 (including 6PE and 6VPE).

Saul SteinBeen involved with the internet since 1993. Been actively working with the 
industry in ZA since 2000, having worked for ISPs since then.
I have served on the INX management committee and working group for the past 
3 years and would like to continue to see it grow.
